Single Cell Gene Expression Analysis
Gene expression analysis on single cells using standard systems introduces a number of
challenges.
First, single cell handling is not ensured in a reliable way. Second, no optical control of single cell
handling is possible. Therefore the experimental results cannot be correlated to the sample.
Third, the sensitivity of microplate based platforms is not sufficient.
Beckman Coulter has developed an innovative workflow for single cell gene expression
analysis based on the AmpliGrid system.
This workflow follows a simple strategy of using flow cytometry for reliable sorting of single cells followed by an optical quality control step to verify cell deposition and provides you with perfect quantitative gene expression results derived from ONE single cell. Of course all steps can be automated by using the Beckman Coulter Biomek 3000 laboratory automation workstation.
See how single cell analysis problems are solved in our workflow video here.
