Advalytix Launches “AmpliGrid Certified” Label for Accurate Single Cell Placement for Molecular Analysis via Flow Cytometry
Munich, Germany (June 24, 2008) –The Advalytix product team of Olympus is launching a certification program for flow cytometry facilities who have demonstrated > 90% success rate of placing single cells into the reaction sites on Advalytix’ 1µl AmpliGrid PCR slides. Among the first to achieve certification are flow cytometry facilities located at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA; UMass Medical School, Worcester, MA; Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, NY; Creighton University, Omaha, NE; Duke University Human Vaccine Institute, Durham, NC; UNC at Chapel Hill; MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX; NIH’s NHLBI and NCI, Bethesda, MD; the Gladstone Institutes, San Francisco, CA, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA and the German Rheumatism Research Center, Berlin, Germany.
Munich, Germany (May 14, 2008) – The Advalytix products team of Olympus introduces the CellEvator mixer, which uses proprietary surface acoustic wave (SAW) mixing technology to enhance sample mixing during cell sorting. The CellEvator is a drop-in replacement for the built-in mechanical sample mixer in Becton Dickinson’s market-leading FACSAria™ cell sorting system. It will be on exhibit at the 24th Annual International Congress of the International Society of Analytical Cytology, Booth 41, May 17-21, in Budapest, Hungary.
Munich, 31.03.2008 – The Olympus Advalytix product range is enabling researchers at the University Hospital of Jena to revolutionise therapeutic strategies in breast cancer care. The unique AmpliGrid AG480F and AmpliSlide single cell amplification system has ensured that, for the first time, scientists can ‘type’ and ‘profile’ each individual circulating cell in a enriched mixture using PCR or RT-PCR protocols. This means that cancer cells can be compared to normal cells very easily and quickly and therefore it is possible to follow the therapeutic effect of chemotherapy throughout a course of treatment.
November 2007 – Just a few months after the launch of the new company website, Advalytix now presents the Advalytix Newsletter. The focus is to provide all Advalytix customers with first-rate application reports from academia and industry. Complemented with special protocols for the AmpliGrid system as well as information on new products, customer-related company news and upcoming events the newsletter also offers the opportunity to stay up-to-date with Advalytix.
Take a look at the first issue of the Advalytix Newsletter and read an exciting white paper centring on memory B cells and vaccines. Find out how Dr. Colette Cywes Bentley of the Harvard Medical School uses single-cell molecular analysis to discover how viral infection predisposes people to bacterial super-infections. Munich, May 2007 – Advalytix AG, a subsidiary of Olympus Life and Material Science Europa GmbH, and the Medical University of Graz are cooperating on novel prenatal diagnostic technologies. Together they are testing a new method for the genetic analysis of foetal cells from maternal blood. Using the non-invasive AmpliGrid method, hereditary diseases and trisomies, such as Down’s Syndrome, can be diagnosed consistently and without risk to mother or baby, even at an early stage of pregnancy.
